Apple’s Emmy-fuelled TV service gets global iCloud+ push
Apple is arguably the new HBO and just took home 28 awards at the 2026 Emmys. Today it has announced plans to globalize its streaming brand with a fantastic offer in which iCloud+ subscribers gain access to the service at no extra charge.
The deal is open in 100 countries where Apple has added Apple TV and Apple Arcade to iCloud+ subscription — not just developing economies, but also to the residents of the tax havens that harbour the very rich, such as the Cayman Islands.
Available to those subscribing to 50GB iCloud+ subscriptions and above, the offer means that for a really low — $1a month — price, you can get to spend time exploring Apple’s award-winning selection of shows. Apple TV has also been extended to 59 new nations
But it’s not just TV and Arcade, either. Apple is also bundling in Apple Music Select, which will give iCloud+ subscribers access to a handful of ad-free internet radio stations.
Every silver lining has its own cloud, of course, and people in Europe, US, UK, and other key Apple markets can’t get hold of this fantastic deal. Is it possible it comes as Apple sets wheels in motion for an ad-supported version of the service? I don’t know, but it has been discussed before, and it is known that new Apple CEO, John Ternus, and services chief, Eddy Cue, both want to make more money from services, so we’ll wait and see.
