Apple’s August silly season leaks fill the press

Apple shipped its macOS 26.7 beta last night.
The first news stories followed almost immediately, as Apple watchers swiftly discovered a gold mine of future product leaks buried inside the code.
macOS 26.7 beta left a whole bunch of code items visible, which together revealed a host of future products, including AirPods with cameras inside.
The beta also confirmed the OLED iPad mini, but product identifiers for a future Apple Vision Pro and Home Hubproduct were also found, as were identifies for an iPhone Ultra and Apple Intelligence in China.
The beta also revealed Pebble, believed to be the code name for Apple’s future homeOS platform, an identifier we think may relate to a video camera, and references to new colors, headphones from Beats.
It also referenced five new iPhones including next spring’s iPhone 18, Macs, including next-gen iMacs, MacBook Pros – even a next-generation Apple TV remote was referenced in the code along with several product identifiers for items that haven’t yet been identified.
This is an exciting, tantalizing glance at what to expect from Apple in the coming months. It couldn’t have appeared at a better time as Apple seeks to ramp up media attention in the prelude to the accession of new CEO, John Ternus, and the wave of new Appe products we expect him to introduce.
