Windows 10 seems to be the best Apple ad around

Jonny Evans

Watching Apple since 1999. I don't say what they should do. I say what they might do. They sometimes do.

Good points … and I do agree, however the first thing I noticed when reading this page was a popup warning me that this site collects information via cookies. (and I am a user of both Windows and OS X platforms)

Yep — I’m based in Europe and under European law I’m required to warn site visitors that the site collects cookies — fact is every site (or ad network on a site) pretty much does that. However, Windows 10’s accused of a much more egregious form of insecurity, AFAIK

99% of owners of Windows PCs aren’t going to switch to Macs on account of some privacy issues. There are far more cheapskates in the world than big spenders. Most consumers are only interested in saving money and Windows PCs are usually much less expensive than Macs. People are always looking for upfront bargains so they’re not going to be buying any Macs. iMacs are expensive enough and the Mac Pros are ridiculously expensive for what you get in terms of upgradeability. I’m afraid this whole idea of consumers dumping Windows PCs for Macs is simply a pipe dream. Apple will never be able to increase the Mac market share to any degree over what it already is. Apple will be lucky to hold the market share they already have. Besides, Microsoft can always change its privacy policy and they would certainly do that in order to hold onto market share.

Apple has tripled its share since 99.
      It won’t stop increasing it
      Microsoft is shrinking
      Get over it.
