    Not everyone agrees that Duolingo, Rosetta Stone, etc are fantastic. Greg Dickens’ article on Medium mentions a quote from Duolingo’s VP of Product, no less: “Fluency, Mazal says, isn’t really the goal. “ ‘When you’re done using the product,’ he says, ‘you feel like you’re a little bit better as a person. That’s really what people are going for. That’s what we try to give them.’ ” AI & machine learning may make for slicker apps, but they’ll never replace a skilled, caring teacher.
