Ex-Windows chief on Apple Silicon: ‘Unprecedented execution’
The former president of Microsoft’s Windows division, Steven Sinofsky, isn’t the first person you’d expect to shower Apple with praise for its silicon development expertise, but he did just that on June 26.
‘Unprecedented execution’
Sinofsky, who was with Microsoft for 23-years, took to Twitter to issue an extensive 25 message succession of Tweets in which he looked at what he calls, “Apple’s relentless strategy, execution and point of view.”
The thread is well worth a read (as Apple 3.0 observes). What follows are some highly subjective selected highlights, but you can read the whole thing on Medium.
Amidst all the details, installing pre-release, and commentary (including my own) I want to take a moment to reflect on #WWDC putting it in context of the past two decades. Quite simply, what we're seeing is some of the most remarkable product engineering over time in history. 1/ pic.twitter.com/hTrQ1R7Pgv

Relentless multi-year strategic execution
6/ My jaw dropped when Tim Cook discussed the transition to Apple Silicon (ASi) as a two year journey. First, that's like no time at all. Second, that's an incredibly long time to tell everyone how long it will take and that they should be patient. Seriously.

13/ Watching today's WWDC you can see a clear and relentless prioritization of that multi-year strategy across a MASSIVE product development team. It is really amazing to see and I really believe under appreciated. I am fond of the expression "don't ship the org chart"…

Best in the business? It sure looks like the business thinks that way… Interesting to also note that Sinofsky this year hopped onto an iPad Pro as his main computing device.
