Apple VP Eddy Cue commits to quality not quantity for TV

Back in May, Cannes Lions announced it would recognize Apple’s Senior Vice President of Services and Health, Eddy Cue, as its 2026 Entertainment Person of the Year.
This morning it held the award ceremony, which the Apple VP joined, along with Jerry Bruckheimer, who produced Apple’s F1: The Movie.
I couldn’t even dream it
“I can’t even say this is a dream come true, because I couldn’t even dream that way,” Cue said. “I have an amazing team of folks I get to work with every day that have made this all possible. The great thing is we’re just getting started, so there’s a lot more to do.”
Cue talked a little about Apple, telling attendees the company still reflects the “foundational” beliefs of founder, Steve Jobs.
One belief he did discuss was the importance of the story. “It begins and ends with the story. If you don’t have a story, you can’t have a great show, and that always resonated with me about the things that we’re trying to do.”
F1 – second movie confirmed
Cue also confirmed his belief that the mission Apple is on in streaming is not to produce the most content, but to create the best quality content.
Both men confirmed plans to make a follow-up to the F1 movie, and Bruckheimer confirmed he is also working on a UFO-related film for the company.
