Apple Music Radio is now available in TuneIn app

Apple’s Music Radio logo
Apple Music Radio extends its reach on news that its six stations are now available within the popular TuneIn radio service app, as well as via Apple Music.
It’s a good move, really, as it extends the reach of those shows, which themselves help Apple offer a wider, all points music services company, from recording to consumption and, with radio, promotion.
What does the partnership mean?
What this means is that 75m TuneIn users will be able to listen to Apple Music 1, Apple Music Hits, Apple Music Country, Apple Music Uno, Apple Music Club and Apple Music Chill. All the channels are commercial free, while a link within the TuneIn app and website directs users to Apple Music. It’s a two-way street with TuneIn’s suite of radio stations also available to Apple Music.
Apple is also attempting to forge links with FM and AM radio channels to raise its profile.
Why make these efforts?
This must be seen as an attempt to reclaim ground lost in the US to Spotify. Apple Music has seen its share of US music subscription services fall to 25% from 30% in 2020. Spotify’s share increased during the same period.
It’s not the only attempt Apple is making to secure its service.
A refuge from Spotify
The company also now offers an easy migration tool within Apple Music with which to transfer playlists, liked songs, albums, and libraries from Spotify and other services. The tool is available in Settings on your iOS family device and also on the web.
The non-destructive tool is available in the US, UK, Canada, France, Germany, Brazil, Mexico, and Canada. Just open Apple Music>Settings and select Transfer Music from Other Music Services. It is possible Apple Music won’t be able to identify or transfer all the music, but where it can’t it will make an intelligent suggestion.
