India’s iPhone factories are up all night, reports claim
Tata Electronics and Foxconn-owned factories in India are working in overdrive to churn out Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max devices. The smartphones are rolling off the production lines for sale globally as Apple once again increases production in India.
A report from Economic Times lends a little flavor to what’s happening, describing the devices speedily being transferred to chartered flights for worldwide distribution.
This is the first time India has built devices on launch
What makes this an important moment for Apple in India is that this is the first time Made-in-India Pro iPhones will hit global shelves from day one, “as Apple expands its India manufacturing and export push,” the report said.
Production in India now appears to have become as intense as it has always been in China around the iPhone launch, with factories across the region operating overnight shifts to meet demand.
iPhone Duo production also under way
We’ve seen no first hand reports from China but the scene is presumably the same across iPhone factories there, and it is highly probable that production at the iPhone Duo manufacturing line is also in overdrive, though market speculation suggests those devices take longer to build given the complex engineering of the near-invisible iPhone Duo hinge.
(Apple’s move to introduce the Duo appears to have raised all the boats, with local reports in South Korea claiming Samsung has experienced a 10% uplift in sales of its own Galaxy Z Fold 8 device in its home turf since Apple introduced its product.)
