Apple Stores just started selling smart workout tech used by the Steelers
While I’m sure most (though not all) of my readers probably don’t own their own private gyms crammed with Apple Watch-compatible gym equipment, I think many might be interested in the new to market Activbody Activ5 fitness device that integrates with HealthKit on Apple Watch and iPhone and is now available at Apple stores.
Smart isometrics
The system is quite smart. It tracks your workout and shares relevant stats about your physical accomplishments with your devices, including Health and HealthKit.
The device isn’t for muscle beach – it’s an isometric-based strength training device that coaches users through short duration, low impact, full body workouts while quantifying muscle activity.
It works, and has become part of the training regimen for the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers team who follow a training scheme developed with help from the Activ5 manufacturers.
The Activ5 device is a handheld pad containing multiple pressure sensors. It works with an accompanying app (iPhone, iPad and Watch) that provides you with over 100 5-minute workouts and tutorials.
“We are experiencing phenomenal interest and growth globally due to the effectiveness of Activ5, and our ongoing commitment to meaningful, customer-centric enhancements including our recent Apple Watch app announcement,” said Dan Stevenson, CEO of Activbody in a press release.
There you go – a gym in your home that won’t break the bank. Now in your local Apple Store.
