Apple increases Apple TV, Apple One prices

Just as the first few episodes of Ted Lasso at last reach screens, Apple has raised the price of Apple TV subscriptions, which also means it has increased the cost of Apple One.
Apple TV subscriptions now cost $14.99/m up from $12.99 – or you can pay $119 for an annual subscription (once $99). Apple One shared plans got price increases when Apple Music prices increased recently, so those stay the same, but the Apple One Individual plan now costs $21.95/month, up from $19.95/month.

This is just the latest in a line of streaming service price increases. Netflix and Peacock have both increased prices, even as consumer electronic prices climb sky high, along with everything else.
Wealth really only seems to be moving in one direction, though to be fair Apple’s TV content is among the best, and its TV shows do a good job in staving off that feeling of panic most consumers feel as prices race past their ability to keep up. (Have I mentioned you can now support me with a subscription to my daily news service at the Core? There’s a reason I started that – yes, even Apple tech writers aren’t immune). It may well also be worth noting this is the fourth increase in four years.
What next? With its huge margins, Apple’s services income is no doubt helping support the rest of the company’s business as it goes through tumultuous times. It is also interesting the company recently made a small bunch of movies it didn’t make itself available to TV subscribers – and only today inked a deal securing worldwide rights for hit BBC comedy, Small Prophets.
At the same time, the company has built and continues to retain a reputation for excellence across its TV service. Which now costs treble its original price.
