Amazon is offering fantastic discounts on M4 Macs and iPad Pros as product refresh looms

Forgive this shopping-related thread. I tend to avoid writing stories packed with affiliate links like this one is, but it seemed a good moment to remind anyone looking to get the best bank for limited bucks and in the market for a new Mac, that there are significant discounts on some Macs and iPads available now on Amazon.
The art of the (good) deal
The discounts likely reflect that Apple is imminently expected to introduce its first M5 Macs and M5 iPad Pros. These will be fantastic machines, delivering even more computational performance at low power than Apple’s existing range of iPads and Macs, they will be the bee’s knees, the crème de la crème, the hot tamales of mobile computing capable of delivering much, much more than competitors supply and all with a rock solid, highly secure operating system aboard.
AI PCs?
These things can run AI in a Windows VM without breaking a sweat, but why bother with using that when you can use Apple Intelligence as a conduit to third party AI services?
But, while preparing for these launches, Apple is also moving to reduce the inventory it has of the existing models it’s about to replace. Now, these models are also amazing – M4 Macs are top of the performance tree, and M4 iPads put all other tablets to shame. Sure, both are about to be superseded by M5, but you still get the best machines money can buy, bar one (which hasn’t appeared yet).
Just by lagging Apple’s release schedule by about a year you can get fab machines at compelling prices.

Apple’s 13-inch M4 MacBook Air notebook is currently £849 on Amazon, down £150 (15%). In the US, you can now find the same model for $799. You can also find the 15-inch M4 Air for $999 or even pick up a 14-inch MacBook Pro for $1,299. These are $200-$300 discounts on the normal price – almost enough for an iPhone 16e!
When it comes to the iPad Pro, there’s signs of similar surfeits of shopper’s joy. You’ll find discounts on all the iPad Pro models in the US. In the UK, the 11-inch model is down £70 at £929 while the 13-inch iPad Pro has £110 slashed off the cost and is available for £1,389. In the UK, you can even pick up the current iPad for £284, a £40 discount on the normal price.
In other words, you can save up to £300 by purchasing one of the currently available Macs or iPad Pros equipped with an M4 chip, and I promise you you’ll still be super impressed by the purchase you make.
Apple is creating the best systems money can buy, to the extent that all the M-series Macs since the first one are still superb machines. (One more thing, even the fabulous M4 Mac mini is available now at around £100 less).
