Massive Apple auction includes a working Apple-1 and stealth iPod

Apple history types (including me) will dig deep into the upcoming RR Auction catalog which features over 200 highly collectible and rare items that track the evolution of the company.

The The Apple 50th Anniversary Auction Part Two catalog includes some really, really rare pieces, including an amazing “stealth iPod” prototype, the rare Apple-1, and dozens of documents, including signed Steve Jobs memorabilia.

Star of the show is the fully functional ‘Neumark’ Apple-1 Computer, an original 1977 system from the second batch of 50 Apple-1 computers produced and sold.

Restored to operational condition by Apple-1 expert Corey Cohen in June 2026, the computer is housed in a specially modified Smith-Corona typewriter case and retains its original Apple-1 board, Apple Cassette Interface, Datanetics Rev D keyboard, manuals, software, and correspondence. It can load Apple BASIC and run period software.

A second highlight is the Apple P68 ‘Stealth iPod’ Development Prototype. Developed by Apple’s Special Projects Group during creation of the original iPod, the oversized engineering enclosure concealed the product’s final dimensions while engineers refined its hardware and software ahead of its public introduction in October 2001.

Preserved by original iPod team program manager Jim Dumont, the prototype is accompanied by an extensive archive documenting the culture and milestones of Apple’s original iPod engineering team.

You’ll also find a Steve Jobs-signed business card from his time as President at Next (above). That’s not the only one, the sale also features a Steve Jobs-signed 1983 Apple Computer business card. Issued while Jobs served as Chairman of the Board of Directors, the card bears Apple’s iconic rainbow logo. It’s one of the rarest surviving examples from Apple’s formative years.

There’s also a Steve Jobs-signed Apple Computer Company check dated July 29, 1976, an exceptionally early Apple II preserved in its scarce original ventless case with a Rev. 0 logic board and complete Apple Lisa-1 with its original ‘Twiggy’ floppy drives.

Additional highlights include computers preserved in the Jobs family home, a Steve Jobs-signed 1984 Macintosh team letter, signed Apple business cards, rare Apple prototypes, early processors, and other artifacts.
