EE now offers UK customers Apple’s useful iPhone Handoff feature

UK operator EE is first out the gate to announce future support for Apple’s useful iPhone Handoff feature, which lets you switch between two iPhones using the same mobile number. The snag is it’s being introduced as a treat for those already subscribed to one of its premium plans, though others can enable it for a fee of £5 each month.
Handoff lets you take and make calls and messages on both phones using the same number. It also means you can add payment cards on one device that will work on both, and that all your app and iCloud experiences will sync and be the same. To all intents and purposes, it becomes the same phone.
“Included with EE’s Full Works Plus plan which includes Fast Lane, or available for £5 per month on a rolling contract, iPhone Handoff is coming soon and offers a level of flexibility and convenience that isn’t available anywhere else in the UK,” the carrier said.
EE is the first UK carrier to announce such support, with no news yet from Vodafone, Three, or O2. (The first two carriers are now one entity).
