CES: Is your dog happy? There’s an iOS app for that
Japanese firm Langualess has introduced a harness that acts a little like a mood ring for your dog – though I’m not entirely sure how useful that is.
How it works
The system consists of a harness with a colour-changing panel that tells you if your dog is chilled out, stressed out, curious or excited.
Moods which frankly aren’t especially hard to spot.
Indeed, I’d go so far as to say that while this is an interesting use of technology it is of incredibly limited use for dogs but could be incredibly useful for other animals, like sheep and cattle.
If you want a collection of iOS-compatible dog technology solutions that are actually useful, do take a look at these instead.
Meanwhile, here’s an incredibly odd video that describes the product.
After all, a connected system that warned you when your sheep were frightened could be all it took to protect them against dangerous animal attacks or poaching.
Still, back to the product. It works by monitoring heart rate to determine mood. It also has an app that lets you read these moods remotely and monitor them over time.
One more thing – this contraption costs around $210. And isn’t even waterproof.
