Apple invests in Vietnam workforce
Investing in the skills it needs tomorrow, Apple is launching a new Apple Education Center in Hanoi, Vietnam, in partnership with Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
The centre will provide employees working in the Apple supply chain with training in topics such as smart manufacturing, robotics, automation, Swift programming, leadership, workplace rights, health education and professional development.
“At Apple, we bring the spirit of innovation into every employee support activity of the global supply chain,” said Sarah Chandler, Apple’s Vice President of Supply Chain and Environment Innovation.
“We are very excited to expand educational training courses in Vietnam, giving thousands of workers the opportunity to train important skills and discover new opportunities for career development”.
The initiative is part of Apple’s broader $50 million Supplier Employee Development Fund. The intention is to help people working in its supply chain gain new skills, advance their careers and access broader opportunities. Since its launch in 2022 over 9 million education and training sessions have been made available thanks to the fund.
Apple has also expanded the extent of the vocational education for people with disabilities it makes available in Vietnam.
