Apple commences US manufacturing of Private Cloud Compute servers

Apple has begun deployment of US-made Apple Intelligence servers made at its new factory in Houston, Texas.
These are the servers Apple intends using to power its Private Cloud Compute system. Those are the cloud-based AI host servers that can be used to enable LLM compute where more processor is required than when using a single Apple device at the edge.
Private words
The difference between these cloud servers and those offered by others is that Apple has designed these systems to be private from the start, including putting its systems through the strictest possible security and privacy oversights.
The move to begin production in the US is an obvious attempt on behalf of the company to show the current US administration how willing it is to commence manufacturing in its home country where it is reasonable to do so. Getting there early just shows how capable it has become.
What Apple said
In a post on social media, Apple CEO, Tim Cook, wrote: “Apple’s American-made advanced servers are now shipping from our new Houston facility to Apple data centers! These servers will help power Private Cloud Compute and Apple Intelligence, as part of our $600 billion US commitment.”

Apple Chief Operating Officer Sabih Khan told Fox Business:
“We are thrilled to be shipping American-made advanced servers from our Houston facility. As part of our $600 billion commitment to the United States, these servers will be installed in our data centers and play a key role in powering Apple Intelligence with Private Cloud Compute. Our teams have done an incredible job accelerating work to get the new Houston factory up and running ahead of schedule, and we plan to continue expanding the facility to increase production next year.”
Apple’s server factory is part of the fruit of the company’s $600b investment in the US.
Announced earlier this year, the investment included training, technology development, chip manufacturing, rare earth supply and deep investments in manufacturing science.
