Samsung’s best smartphones now cost more than iPhone
In a quiet move, Samsung has increased the cost of its best smartphones, the Galaxy S26 series in a move that makes the range more expensive than their iPhone equivalents.
Here are the new prices:
- Galaxy S26 – $999.99 with 256GB storage, $1,199.99 in a 512GB variant;
- Galaxy S26 Plus – $1,199.99 with 256GB storage, $1,399.99 with 512GB;
- Galaxy S26 Ultra – $1,399.99 with 256GB storage, $1,599.99 in a 512GB configuration, $1,999.99 with 1TB storage.
I wondered how these confirmed with iPhones, so in a moment’s laziness I got some AI or other to rustle me up a comparison chart, which shows that at the high-end, these new prices mean a 1TB Galaxy S26 Ultra now costs as much as an iPhone Duo.

You’ve got to thank AI and greedy memory firms for all of this price-derived goodness. Credit card companies across the planet will be rubbing their excited hands together in glee.
