Apple & Google take away some pain from iPhone and Android switching

Did he use an Android once?
Apple and Google are preparing to make it much easier to switch between iPhone and Android devices with two key improvements:
- It’s going to make it easier to switch between iPhone and Android.
- It will easier to port Safari data over to Chrome.
MacObserver tells us the latest Chrome 145 beta has a new feature that helps you import bookmarks, browsing history, and passwords from Safari. While some of these processes remain manual, to maintain Apple’s privacy protection, Chrome will guide you through the process.
This work likely tallies with Apple’s own work on building in better support for switching to Android within iOS 26. You find this in Settings (General>Transfer or Reset iPhone>Transfer to Android) and the new transfer tool which lets you place your iPhone beside an Android device to begin to transfer photos, messages, notes, apps, passwords, phone number, and more – locked notes or confidential health information won’t be transferred, however.
Google has implemented a similar feature on Android.
These moves follow agreement from Europe that Apple and Google’s new approach to easier switching complies with the Digital Markets Act.
