Jamf upgrades apps for home school parenting

Jamf recently introduced a selection of tools that may help parents attempting to educate children who attend school districts that use Jamf School MDM suite.
Jamf School gets virtual
Jamf has also improved Jamf School, its mobile device management (MDM) solution purpose-built for education. This has gained a selection of new features which may help boot home learning:
- Raise Hand
This allows students to raise their hand virtually, triggering a notification to teachers to respond via Chat or email immediately.
- Teacher Guide
An in-app guide that provides teachers with helpful tips on how to teach remotely, complete with videos and tutorials.
- Share a Lesson
This lets teachers share lessons, with set-up restrictions, shared apps and whitelisted websites.
Jamf announced global availability of Jamf School and the availability of the Jamf Parent app in Jamf Pro last November.
The Jamf Parent watchOS app
The Jamf Parent watchOS app is available for Jamf Pro and Jamf School and will automatically sync with the parent iPhone.
As a tool, this means parents can use the app on their wrist to remotely handle the following tasks:
- Parents can restrict which apps and features their child can access on their device, including games and social media.
- Schedule homework or bedtime and apply associated restrictions on device capabilities.
- Track student device location and set up notifications.
