Watching Apple since 1999. I don't say what they should do. I say what they might do. They sometimes do.

“The data suggests that the first five days of iPhone 8 pre-orders were 78 percent lower than the equivalent period following the launch of the iPhone 7”

Slice is blowing smoke. Apple has not yet released sales figures for the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus.

It may be that Slice is trying to judge sales by how long the iPhone 8 models are back-ordered… But that would be very unreliable and misleading, if Apple was just more efficient in producing large quantities of the new phones than with past models. In other words, the sales numbers could be a lot higher than Slice estimates, simply because Apple is shipping more new iPhones since the launch than they have in the past.
