Just quit spreading the ‘Jony Ive quits Apple’ nonsense already

Jonny Evans

Watching Apple since 1999. I don't say what they should do. I say what they might do. They sometimes do.

That’s the first time I’ve heard of it. Funny to read it here.

  2. ZinkDifferent says:

“This is absolutely not true. As John Gruber wrote once these comments got picked up and twisted beyond recognition: “Every aspect of every new product remains as much under his watchful eye as ever.” Jony Ive is not leaving Apple. He remains involved in every product decision. We need to put this nonsense back in the box.”

How’d that box work out for you and Gruber? ROTFLOL

You’re right, though, Jony Ive didn’t quit – he was politely, and face-ravingly, fired.

… and Apple has been demonstrably doing much better ever since that day, so, good riddance (with apologies to all the Jony Ive fanbois…)

I don’t like your tone in this — it feels like you are having a dig — but I’m not sure you are in a position to on the basis of that post:

      1. Ive left in 2019.
      2. The piece was written three years earlier in 2016.

      Things can change.

Not to mention — was he sacked? You appear to be the only one who says so — so how do you know? Why would you know?

Anyway, thanks for contributing, it’s good to.
