The Verge just hit the track with real news, a rare scoop interview with Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing, where he notes some very big changes to App Store economics.

  • 70/30 split remains
  • But developers who can maintain subscriptions for longer than a year get 85/15
  • Subscriptions will be available to all categories
  • Search ads for apps
  • But Apple has thought to make sure the ad auction system is fair to small developers as well as the rich ones.
  • App review times increased – 50% now in 24-hours.

Much more here.
